Preschool Field Trip to the Orchard

Tyler's 3 year-old preschool class took an October 4th field trip to Deals Orchard near Jefferson, IA. I tagged along for the morning. Unfortunately it was a very windy and cold day to be outside, but the kids still had fun. Tyler also helped me make cupcakes to bring to the orchard for his birthday treats.
His class
Learning about the apple sorter
Studying (seriously) the bee hive
Hay rack ride was a big hit. We were supposed to be able to pick our own apples, but the weather this past winter/spring ruined a lot of the crop and we weren't able to do that this trip.
Enjoying the giant pillow after the tour

Giant "slide"
Wheeeeeeeeeee
Long slide!
Corn pool
Tractor driving
Fun morning with new friends!
While we were at the orchard, Grandma Janelle and Hannah had some quality time together. It obviously wore little Hannah out, because we watched her quickly fade right after lunch started and she fell asleep - but at least not in her soup!

In No Particular Order

Here are some family photos from the first 15 days of October that didn't fit into any other category I will post later.

Tyler enjoyed an early birthday present - a "new to him" bike that his cousin Brodie had outgrown. Tyler was very excited to put on his helmet and pedal away.
Hannah and I can't keep up with him on our stroller rides anymore!

Fun with trains - in PJs on a Monday morning
Sunday afternoon brother/sister movie date complete with popcorn
How Mom & Tyler spent Saturday afternoon (after the race I coordinated)
Spending a really nice day having a picnic in the backyard. It was Tyler's idea, he picked out the menu and the picnic spot!
